Uses: Exemestane is an aromatase inhibitors drug that works by reducing the amount of estrogen production by the body and slowing down or stopping the growth of some tumors in the breast - receptor positive breast cancer (breast tumors that need estrogen to grow). It lowers the estrogen (female hormone) in postmenopausal women who have not responded to an anti-estrogen therapy earlier.
